Empowering Families to Support Mathematical Brilliance
Overview
Algorithm EDU recognizes that meaningful parent engagement is essential to a child’s mathematical growth and long-term academic confidence. Our mission is to expand access to high-quality math learning experiences, which begins by empowering families with the tools, knowledge, and support they need. Through our Parent Empowerment Initiative, we equip caregivers to serve as their child’s first and most influential math teacher by offering interactive workshops, culturally responsive resources, and ongoing community partnerships.
Together, we are building a strong foundation for math joy, problem-solving, and opportunity, nurturing not only confident learners but the next generation of mathematicians and critical thinkers.
When parents are empowered, children are unstoppable.
Community Outreach
Algorithm EDU meets families where they are.
Through community-based events held in schools, community centers, libraries, housing developments, and family resource fairs, we provide parents with immediate access to math enrichment materials and demonstrations. Families receive tools such as math games, workbooks, visual learning supports, and simple strategies they can use at home to build numeracy and problem-solving skills.
Math Workshops
Our interactive workshops equip parents with the knowledge and confidence to support their child’s math learning in a meaningful way.
The two foundational workshops are:
Math Mindset: Helps parents understand how confidence, persistence, and positive attitudes toward math shape student success.
Building Number Sense: Provides practical, family-friendly activities and techniques to strengthen numeracy and fluency at home.
These workshops are designed to be welcoming, hands-on, and adaptable to all levels of math comfort.
Parent Cohort Program
The Parent Cohort Program provides more in-depth, personalized support to a select group of families.
Through monthly check-ins, resource guidance, and direct access to Algorithm EDU’s math counselors, parents receive consistent coaching and advocacy. Counselors also collaborate with school leaders and math teachers to discuss student progress and ensure families feel empowered and included in academic conversations. The program’s goal is to help parents build sustainable routines and strategies that uplift their child’s long-term math development.
Why It Matters
In underserved communities, inequities in math achievement begin early.
Only 38% of low-income families report having access to grade-level math resources at home, compared to 71% of higher-income families.
60% of parents say they feel confused by how math is taught today, and 57% of adults experience math anxiety that can be passed down to their children.

When parents are equipped with understanding and support, children’s confidence and achievement in math grow dramatically.
